Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

There's a hint of pink to the color of this gris, along with a little earthiness adding dimension to the honeyed apple and pear flavors. It's juicy and fresh, with enough edge to match grilled prawns.

This wine's luscious fruit has a coastal freshness that lasts. Plump and delicious when first poured, the citrus and nectarine flavors deepen and feel more structured the next day. It has the mouthwatering effect of a bite of crisp cucumber, with the textural roundness for fleshy fish, like roast halibut.

Anderson Valley, CaliforniaHandley Pinot Gris is a refreshing white wine gem from the beautiful Anderson Valley appellation of Mendocino. Wine & Spirits magazine named the 2006 vintage Pinot Gris among its Top 100 Wines of 2007, rating it an impressive 94 points! Winemaker Milla Handley was also honored as Best Mendocino Producer by the magazine: "Milla Handley has impressed us for years with the subtle pleasure of her Anderson Valley wines. Her fresh and mouthwatering whites are consistently at the top of their class." Robert Parker is also a fan of Handley Cellars: Milla Handley produces fruit-driven wines of excellent ripeness, purity and overall symmetry..." The winery uses organic methods and its Anderson Valley Estate vineyard is certified organic.Handley Pinot Gris is straw yellow in color with a round texture and luscious mouthfeel. It offers aromas of tangerine, citrus and honeysuckle, followed by rich flavors of nectarine, citrus and a touch of vanilla. The wine was fermented 80% in neutral French oak to enhance texture and a creamy mouthfeel and 20% in stainless steel to preserve the natural floral characteristics of Pinot Gris. It is nicely balanced with a long, cleansing finish.Enjoy Handley Pinot Gris over the next 4-5 years with roast halibut, grilled salmon, fried chicken and soft cheeses. The winery also suggests a Vietnamese curry with chicken and coconut milk as a good match for this Pinot Gris.

A fresh, fruity offering from this renowned California winery. Flavors of melon and apricot dance on your tongue and are followed by lime nuances.

If I closed my eyes I would think I was drinking a Pinot Gris from Alsace! This wine is delicate, yet has nice body with flavors of peach and papaya and a touch of apple on the finish. It has a rich texture and a touch of honey to balance the acidity. Pinot Gris is a charming, versatile food pairing wine. Serve it with flavorful fish dishes such as poached salmon, baked halibut or grilled swordfish.

Vibrant and effusively fruity, with tropical fruit and creamy pear aromas and supple, spicy flavors that finish with zesty acidity. Drink now.
