Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Wine 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

95 points Robert Parker: As for those in bottle, my favorite is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. Most of this comes from the Sacrashe Vineyard as well. A dense, full-bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful. It should continue to drink well for at least 12-15+ years. (Dec 2010)

This is a big Napa Cabernet that needs to be aged. That being said, I just had to open one to try it. Enjoyed this with a nice grilled skirt steak. Pours a viscous dark violet color. Reminds me of a nice Syrah almost. Some deep rich red hues on the edges. Aromas of currants, cassis, charred wood, mushroom dirt and blackberry jam. This hits the palate in full force. Lots of currants and cassis. In the middle, more currants and cassis, but there is plenty of charcoal flavors and blackberry undertones. Finishes just like the middle. This is a very complex, tasty, full bodied Cabernet. Lots of rich tannins coat the back of the palate. Can drink now, but should be done with food. Can age nicely for at least 8-10 years.

Excellent pallet with smooth finish after decant. Great pairing with beef.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain reveals mountain tannins as well as plenty of concentration and depth. Black currant, cocoa, chocolate, espresso roast, lead pencil shavings, and new oak notes characterize this full-bodied, concentrated, moderately tannic 2007 Cabernet. It should hit its prime in 5-6 years, and keep for 20-25.

The inviting deep ruby color and rich aromatics of cassis, roasted espresso bean and dark ripe plum follow through with flavors of blackberry, creme cassis and hints of graphite that linger relentlessly. Rewarding now, this wine will continue to impress for 5-10 years.

The 2008 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon drives complex aromas of jammy blackberry puree, rich cassis, Asian Five-Spice and dark chocolate from the glass. The fleshy texture is both dense and opulent, the perfect platform for brawny black and briar fruit flavors that persist through the velvety, enduring finish.

Rich, with loamy earth, currant, black licorice and subtle cedar touches that build depth and complexity. Best from 2012 through 2020. 15,500 cases made. -JL Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2008 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Medium ruby-red. Pungent blueberry, cassis, mineral and licorice aromas show an almost liqueur-like sweetness. Then suave and fine-grained in the mouth, with concentrated, smooth dark berry and licorice flavors. The strong, building finish features intense, bright dark fruits and sweet chewy tannins.
