loads of silky lucious dark berry fruit, black currants, nutmeg followed with a solid backbone, lovely balance
Woody and leathery aromas dark fruits prunes dates and dark chocolate. Sticks to the palate with chewy tannins. Needs time. 92.
Bought this at Costco (under $30) for a dinner party. Let it breath 1 1/2 hours, but that was not enough. Very rich and concentrated plum and cherry flavors still dominated. The next day, drank a half bottle we had corked and it was spectacular! I would cellar or give it plenty of air, hard to beat for the price.
Bought it at Costco for less than $30. It is a big wine and could be cellared for years. Great value.

An outstanding follow-up to the massively popular 2006 vintage which scored 94 points in the Wine Spectator! Tasting Notes - The inviting deep ruby color and rich aromatics of cassis, roasted espresso bean and dark ripe plum follow through with flavors of blackberry, creme cassis and hints of graphite that linger relentlessly. Rewarding now, this wine will continue to impress for 5-10 years.
WE 96pts, WA 91-93pts - According to the Wine Enthusiast - One of the richest Cabernets of the vintage. Amazingly soft and velvety in the mouth, yet there's a solid grip of acidity and tannins that balance the richness. The flavors are extraordinary, ranging from blackberry and cherry-pie filling through currant liqueur and milk chocolate to leather. So decadent now, it's hard to resist, but should develop for 4-6 years.
Cabernets from this Napa Valley producer have gone from strength to strength, culminating with the 2006 harvest (the winery's 2006 Kathryn Hall bottling appeared at No. 20 on last year's Top 100). This version shows Napa at its best, blending estate grapes from three distinct regions, St. Helena, Rutherford hillsides and the southern valley floor just north of Napa City. Ninety-two percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is aged by winemaker Steve Leveque for 20 months in French oak before bottling. 18,500 cases made.

As for those in bottle, my favorite is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. Most of this comes from the Sacrashe Vineyard as well. A dense, full-bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful. It should continue to drink well for at least 12-15+ years.
