Food Pairings for Hahn Estates Syrah
Jammy, fruity wine. Beautiful dark red color.
External Reviews for Hahn Estates Syrah
Wine Tasting NotesAromas of overripe raspberry and cinnamon with a whiff of cedar. Very, very Syrah with flavors of red fruit, blackberry and plum spread out on a bed of chewy tannins. The wine finishes with mocha and oak and stays true to form throughout. Wonderfully rich with an almost jammy quality, this wine will pair with a range of hearty dishes. Try pairing this wine with a rack of lamb and caramelized shallots, broiled filet mignon on garlic mashed potatoes, or something off the wall like jambalaya with a spicy Creole sauce.
Deep purple in color, the Hahn Estates 2007 Central Coast Syrah opens with aromas of pepper, smoke, and blackberry jam. Aged in 60% new French oak and 40% neutral French oak for 10 months, this wine is smooth and supple all over the mouth, yet has a well-framed and balanced tannic structure. An intense Syrah, it pairs well with heavily-spiced and exotic cuisines such as Thai, Indian, and South American dishes as well as rich desserts. Try it with Kung Pao Chicken or finish up a meal sipping this wine alongside Black Forest cake.
