- Intense aromas of cassis, tobacco and coffee are forward in the nose, with hints of currants, olives, and dark chocolate. Some vanilla is evident from aging in the American oak barrels. Along with the rich flavors expected from the nose, there is the hint of mint and dark berries that stays on the palate. Drinking well now, the wine will benefit from aging for another 3-5 years. Excellent food pairings include Grilled Swordfish, Leg of Lamb, Beef Bordelaise, and most red pasta dishes.
