The winner of multiple awards at wine competitions throughout the country, and worthy of each one! From the makers of Smith & Hook, the Hahn Cabernet is deep and brooding, with black fruits, mocha and cedar on the nose. On the palate, brighter red berry notes, chocolate and anise all vie for dominance. Richly textured, with excellent structure, perfect for pairing - be sure to try it with winemaker-recommended dishes such as prime rib with horseradish or barbecued short ribs in a tangy marinade.
Rich and silky, with a soft, round mouthfeel and lots of lush blackberry fruits. On the nose, seductive aromas of cassis, cedar and blueberry beckon. A really well-made, quite tasty wine in this price range. Hahn consistently produces great wine values, and this Cabernet is worth seeking out.
The 2001 vintage yielded intensely flavorful reds in California, and this Monterey vineyard seems to have soaked up its full share of toasty sunshine. Hahn (the German word for rooster) continues its tradition of cedary, cherry-tinged cabernets with this outdoorsy 2001 version.
