Hagen Heights Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (2003)

and plum, along with fragrant wood spice. With a few more minutes in the glass, the wine's gorgeous fruit comes to the forefront and appears deeper and riper. Like the 2002, this is stylish Napa Cabernet without the typical jammy character that marks some of the Cabernet from the warmer northern part of the valley. Nonetheless the 2003 is quite full-bodied and mouth filling - even more so than the 2002. The tannins are strong (as is typical for Cabernet) yet supple in the nature and beautifully integrated with the concentrated fruit flavors.All in all, this is another great wine to drink now or to stow away in the cellar for further improvement over the next 5-8 years.
