Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. Geared a little more to peaches than classic varietal apples and a bit soft on the palate, this bottling might win a few fans for its comparatively plush feel, but it strikes us as just a bit dull and low on stamina for a wine of its age, and we would not hold on to it for very long.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

Winemaker's Notes:

Light sunflower hue and green apple, guava, and kiwi bouquet. Flavors of integrated bright apple, apricot, and pineapple, with a kiss of toasty oak. With 100% malo-lactic fermentation yet light on the palette, this long-finishing, solidly structured Chardonnay will work wonderfully with a range of fish and lighter game dishes. 840 cases produced.
