Gustave Lorentz Alsace Pinot Noir Réserve 2016

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Lightly aromatic and mostly woodsy on the nose with light suggestions of raspberries. This shows more fruit in the mouth, with bright acids lending nice cut. It’s an elegant style of wine that features nice interplay between silky and bright textural elements. A bit of watermelon and raspberry on the palate get some nice lift on the moderately long finish. 86pts

This obstinate perseverance resulted in the awarding of the supreme accolade "Grand Cru" in 1983. The second "Grand Cru" of the domain, smaller in area, is the Kanzlerberg. A rich heritage and long history bound up with the Knights of St John and the Knights Templar, it allows through its chalky marl soil, the finesse of the Rieslings, and more recently, the Pinot-Gris, to shine through Read less
