A layered, brooding, complex wine with aromas of deep red cherry, strawberry, dried tobacco leaf and lavender. Enters soft, with black plum flavors that deepen into dark coffee, cocoa, smoke and earth and a smooth, velvet texture. Notes of minerality, dried sage and bright cherry return at the finish.

I’ve been on the hunt for a really good California Merlot and had high hopes for this GunBun wine. I wasn’t disappointed but I wasn’t blown away. Bright red fruit on the nose with some tobacco. Softer in intensity with earthy, leather and plum flavors.
