Another very drinkable wine that is good as an every day table wine. A bit oaky, not sweet, and nice aromas of cedar and oak. Read more

Winemaker's Notes:

Superstitiously, the consecutively-numbered vineyard blocks of the winery's Rhinefarm Estate have always skipped from #12 to #14. So when Jeff Bundschu set out to name Gun-Bun's brand of wines sourced from reputable growers in the area, he gave them the honorary designation of the "missing" block. Although we have loved the value this wine represents for three vintages, the 2005 is above and beyond! Roughly half of the fruit is from the prestigious Dry Creek Valley, while the remainder is purchased from neighbors in Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Opulent, juicy blackberry, cassis and plum flavors, laced with hickory smoke and mocha notes. The broad texture is framed by silky tannins and a long, lush aftertaste. Here's the kind of delicious young cabernet I have been collecting for 15 years, at a price point that makes sense in today's marketplace. Enjoy!
