Gunderloch Riesling Rothenberg Gg 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

94 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): ...the darkest, richest and deepest of Gunderloch's Grosses Gewächs trio... pale golden color and a lovely ripe, sweet and spicy bouquet... remarkable serenity and rare relaxation for such a young wine. This is a mouthful of a rich, enormously complex and elegant Riesling with a persistent, salty minerality and lingering as well as piquant lime aromas in the aftertaste. This is a real grand cru with great aging potential. (Oct 2014)

Gunderloch:
Our great - great grandfather, Carl Gunderloch, a banker from Mainz, founded the Gunderloch estate in 1890. He bought excellent grand cru vineyard sites, NACKENHEIM ROTHENBERG, and became one of the pioneers of quality wine making on the Rhine River. Agnes and Fritz Hasselbach have been managing the 30 acres of vineyards in Nackenheim and Nierstein since 1979 and are the fifth generation owners.
