Gunderloch Riesling Kabinett Jean Baptiste 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"Always a pleasure and always great value for Riesling-lovers, the Jean-Baptiste is a blend of two great vineyards in 2012: the Pettenthal in Nierstein and Rothenberg in Nackenheim—both grand cru sites. Technically a feinherb style, or “balanced off-dry,” with passionfruit, peaches and pink lemonade flavors bursting through its juicy, electric palate, girded by thumping red slate. This is a wine we’ve used again and again to introduce consumers to the joys of German Riesling." -Importer

Gunderloch:
Our great - great grandfather, Carl Gunderloch, a banker from Mainz, founded the Gunderloch estate in 1890. He bought excellent grand cru vineyard sites, NACKENHEIM ROTHENBERG, and became one of the pioneers of quality wine making on the Rhine River. Agnes and Fritz Hasselbach have been managing the 30 acres of vineyards in Nackenheim and Nierstein since 1979 and are the fifth generation owners.
