Gunderloch Riesling Auslese Gold Cap Nackenheimer Rothenberg 2002
96+ points Fine Wine Review: "The Nackenheim Rothenberg Gold Cap Auslese has lemon zest, peach, and botrytis in the nose, more apparent acidity on the palate, and great length, but this wine needs time to come together and show its full capabilities. It is a virtual Beerenauslese, and undoubtedly could be legally sold as such. (Issue #99; 2004)"
Our great - great grandfather, Carl Gunderloch, a banker from Mainz, founded the Gunderloch estate in 1890. He bought excellent grand cru vineyard sites, NACKENHEIM ROTHENBERG, and became one of the pioneers of quality wine making on the Rhine River. Agnes and Fritz Hasselbach have been managing the 30 acres of vineyards in Nackenheim and Nierstein since 1979 and are the fifth generation owners.
