Gruner Veltliner Schloss Gobelsburger 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

"Schloss Gobelsburg is one of Austria’s oldest wineries. It began as a Cistercian monastery in 1137 and its first vineyards were planted in 1171. Between 1074 and 1740 there were as many as 19 different families on the estate and castle Gobelsburg. The castle was used for housing POW’s during WWI and WWII but no major damages occurred. In 1958 winemaking resumed under Abbot Bertranard Baumann. In 1996 the whole estate was long-term leased to Willi Brundmayer and Michael Moosbrugger where they continue the winemaking tradition today." Importer
