Light, crisp with hints of grapefruit. Not too sweet. This wine is nicely balanced and delicately sweet without cloying. One of my favorites from Austria.

Wachau, Austira is a protected heritage site, assuring that vines from this area will continue to grow in a healthy, pristine environment. From the vineyard "Frauenweingarten" this is an über classic Grüner with a hint of flint and very white grapefruit on the nose and palate. Pichler-Krutzler is F.X. Pichler’s daughter Elisabeth and her husband Erich Krutzler. Currently only purchasing fruit, they share many facilities with F. X. As they are not yet members of the Vinea Wachau growers’ association, they cannot utilize the familiar stylistic designations Federspiel and Smaragd.
