As always the Grove Mill Pinot Gris is an enticing combination of complexity and approachability. This is one is no exception with just a little more elegance than is usual in the wine. Bouquet: The wine is complex and distinctive, with a density of very ripe tropical fruit aromas, mango, and a touch of musk. Palate: Medium sweetness on the entry. This is a concentrated style with a great deal of poise, great texture and with a beautiful balance and structure. Very persistent finish.

Yealand’s Seaview Vineyard is New Zealand’s most coastal vineyard. Here the vines battle against the elements producing small berries with thick skins and wonderfully rich and intense flavors. Vinification Five parcels of Pinot Gris were harvested individually over a period of five days. The fruit was crushed, de-stemmed and pressed gently, separating the free run juices from the pressings. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours then racked prior to a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to capture and enhance the fruit flavors. Each parcel was fermented separately using a range of selected yeasts. Following fermentation the wine was blended, fined lightly and filtered prior to bottling. Production Area California, United States. Grape Varieties 100% Pinot Gris. Vinification Fruit was hand sorted and gently whole-cluster pressed. The juice is fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks (at temperatures between 63-70°F) to bring out the clean, fresh nuances of Pinot Gris, primarily with native yeasts. There was no malo-lactic (ML) fermentation. Color Medium lemon. Bouquet Layers of floral notes are accented by intense and fresh citrus fruit and a hint of spice. Taste Crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing mouthfeel. Alcohol 13% Serving Suggestions Pairs well with a variety of food including salads, appetizers, grilled vegetables, seafood, white meats, or enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.
