Tight and citrussy on the nose with a very faint blade of grass edge of herbaceousness. Bright and sapid on entry, this sort of dissolved away into a sea of softness in the mouth. There’s not much here here as this straddles the line between fruit and vegetal notes to the point that this ends up being dilute and rather anonymous. The finish is brief and lacks detail. This is a wine of texture, designed to be inoffensive and easy to drink. It is both, and not much more. 80pts

Probably the best Sauvignon Blanc I've tasted all year, the Groth is the epitome of summer — bright, vibrant, fresh and bold. Amazing balance, zesty fruit and subtle herbs are what I look for in a good Sauv, and this wine achieves that perfectly! Without question, a winner.

Crisp and full with flavors of melon and citrus both on the nose and palate.

Our 2012 Sauvignon Blanc was produced from grapes grown in various microclimates of the Napa Valley. The warmer Napa Valley microclimates give us grapes that result in wines with a lush, full melon/citrus character in the aroma and in the flavor. The cooler Napa Valley fruit provides a solid, crisp backbone that gives the wine an exciting liveliness that balances the rich creaminess from "sur lie" aging. - Winery

Groth’s Sauvignon Blanc is vintage-driven. The 2012, from a cool year, has a lusciousness from lees contact and oak, along with pleasant citrus and tropical fruit flavors. A stubbornly unripe green note distracts.

Straw colored and crystal clear in the glass. Fresh sweet lemony aromas mix with melon and mineral notes on the nose. Light to medium bodied the palate shows a mouthful of lemon pith with a leesy influence of vanilla and cream. Michael Weis winemaker since 1994 succeeds with another consistent effort for Groth. Tracey Rose.
