OAKVILLE, NAPA VALLEY
Vintage: The grapevines got off to an early start in 2004 thanks to incredibly warm weather in early spring. An early start was tempered by cooler weather during the summer interspersed with heat spikes. The results were clusters with excellent fruit character and development in both whites and reds. Reviews

Rating: 92/100 - As reviewed by Vinfolio in Issue 110 One of the best examples from Groth tasted in the new century, blended with 13% Merlot. A cedary, honeysuckle-scented mocha and smooth cherry aroma. Good structure, black raspberry, sweet berry, mocha and acidity on palate.

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is big and lush with huge gobs of fruit in the aroma and flavor. The texture of the wine is soft and supple, typical of Cabernet Sauvignons grown in our area of the Oakville AVA. Very smooth and easy on the palate. If done on a blind taste, you will easily confuse for a much expensive wine.
