Gropp Untersee Aoc Müller-Thurgau 2011

External Reviews for Gropp Untersee Aoc Müller-Thurgau

Among the first wines they picked this year, St. Urbans-Hof’s cask-rendered 2011 Wiltinger Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben displays a lovely sense of levity (at 10.5% alcohol) and infectious fresh apple and lemon juiciness, finishing with simple but satisfying persistence while incorporating hints of apple pip and wet stone. This will make a perfect sipper over the next couple of summers. (As with the corresponding 2010, “Kabinett” is here confined to small print on the wine’s back label. But since the reappearance of that reference suggests that it isn’t going away any time soon, and since the wine in question indeed evinces taste-able sweetness beyond that typically displayed by non-Pradikat St. Urbans-Hof wines, I have elected to re-instate “Kabinett” as part of the description for this one.)
