Grgich Hills Zinfandel Napa Valley Estate Grown 2006
Concentrated and balanced this chardonnay begins with a seductive bouquet of pineapple and jasmine followed on the palate by white peaches minerality and a hint of nuttiness. There is no malolactic fermentation giving this Chardonnay sufficient crispness and acidity to balance the wine's concentrated fruit and to pair well with food.

Straw-yellow. Musky aromas of peach and nutmeg lifted by a floral topnote. Broad and rich, with considerable spicy oak showing, but a firm minerality contributes to an impression of dryness. Today the wines fruit is suppressed by its spicy oak. Still a bit coarse, with a tight band of mineral, citrus, quince, green apple and cedary oak. Best to cellar short term. Best from 2009 through 2013. 24,074 cases made. -JL
This Chardonnay did not undergo malolactic fermentation, which preserves the wine's crispness and acidity to balance its concentrated fruit. This elegant Chardonnay has luscious aromas of baked pear, lychee nuts and wild honey.
