Enjoyed at the first time at the Outerbanks - DUCK at Blue Point resturant and walked away with two bottles...and now need more and in the BIG bottles... I had the 2007 Fume Blanc... Now, does anyone know if there is a seller in Northern VA where I can purchase - or is online my only option.
External Reviews for Grgich Hills Fumé Blanc Napa Valley Dry Sauvignon Blanc
This Fumé Blanc sees a little oak in both fermentation and aging, giving this white a creamy, full mouthfeel. Still, it exhibits the quintessential Sauvignon Blanc flavors of lemongrass and grapefruit. A great food wine.
Pale, bright yellow. Pungent aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit pith, lime and anise. Dry, dense and supple, with lime, grapefruit and melon flavors that seem a bit more aggressive in their youth than the 06 did a year ago. Offers good body and texture but not quite the precision of the 06. A light-bodied, graceful wine that has a zingy acidity and fresh-cut grass notes, with refreshing and intense lemon-lime and melon flavors and a spicy, mouthwatering finish. Drink now. 11,800 cases made. -MW ** Only 10 in Stock **
Wine Tasting Notes The grapes were organically and Biodynamically grown on our cool American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, not far from the San Francisco Bay. In the glass, the wine offers a whiff of the tropics with kiwi, grapefruit, pineapple and a hint of minerality. On the tongue, this full-bodied wine has a crisp, refreshing texture and a long finish. This versatile, flavorful white wine is a great companion to a wide variety of food flavors and textures.
