What to Expect

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

Wine Skinny

Ripe and peppery, but not one of those thick, jammy Zins. With focused blackberry and wild raspberry, anise, spicy vanilla and a kick of black pepper on the lengthy finish. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years.

Blend: 88% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah This darkly colored wine almost glows in the glass with lively flavors and aromasof strawberries, raspberries, with a touch of forest floor and leather. There is also a bit ofPetite Sirah grown at this vineyard, which was co-fermented with the Zinfandel to add even morespice and body. This elegant wine has a wonderful texture and is well balanced betweenacidity and alcohol. Enjoy with grilled meats, pizza and pastas.

This is an excellent wine. It has medium tannins but very enticing flavors to balance it out. Pricey but I can tell its worth the price.
