Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Nicely balanced between fruit and tannin, this elegant wine is rich with aromas of black cherry, crushed rose petals and cocoa powder. This full bodied wine goes well with roasted meats, grilled Portobello mushrooms or a firm cows milk cheese such as Edam or Gouda.

Remind in 2015 to track down a bottle to drink. After a last minute change to dine in rather than dine out, we picked this up to drink. The tannins are awesome and the vanilla and berry smooth flavors are quite tasty. Buy a bottle and wait as long as you can to drink ;)

winemaker's notes:A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. The long, cool growing season produced an elegant wine with aromas of black fruit and licorice with a touch of black pepper on the finish. Nicely balanced between acid, fruit and tannin, this wine is the perfect partner with roasted beef, cured ham or creamy cheeses. All of the grapes were grown at our estate vineyards, which were farmed using organic and Biodynamic principles.

Savory herb and ripe currant, berry and plum aromas are firm and intense. Full-bodied and well-structured, with the tannins gaining traction on the finish. Rustic but balanced. Best from 2010 through 2016. 14,520 cases made. -JL Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2005 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

And In the Wall Street Journal, Jay McInerney recommended this Cab saying "Deep purple with a nose of crushed berries.
