Greenwood Ridge Vineyards Riesling Mendocino Ridge Late Harvest 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

A Note from the Winery: It may seem trite to say that wines are made in the vineyard, but we know that our vineyard locations in Mendocino Ridge and in Anderson Valley contribute enormous character and style to our wines. The particular soils, sun exposure and maritime-influenced climate combine to give our wines extraordinary richness and classic varietal style. Tasting Notes: In rare years in which climatic conditions permit optimum formation of Botrytis Cinerea, the "noble rot" that helps concentrate flavors, we produce limited quantities of this remarkable dessert wine, with residual sugars from 15 to 25%. Sweet apricot, pineapple and honeydew melon fruit, artfully balanced by a framework of acidity and honeyed botrytis. The wine style rivals the finest German Trockenbeerenauslese. Technical Notes: Appellation: Mendocino Ridge RS: 18% Alcohol: 11% Brix : 39 degrees Cellaring : Up to 10 years T.A. : .85 pH: 3.45 Bottled: April 3, 2007 Production: 1000 Cases Return to Greenwood Ridge Vineyards wine list
