What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

Green Point was established by the Champagne house Moët & Chandon over 20 years ago in the Yarra Valley, in the southeastern state of Victoria. Cool ocean breezes create ideal conditions for the grapes to develop ripe fruit flavors, while retaining their elegance, finesse, and complexity.

Reviews

Green Point Chardonnay is a fresh and elegant style that uses wild yeast fermentation, subtle oak aging, and bottle age to enhance the white peach and nectarine characteristics typical of 'cool climate' Chardonnay.

Wine Tasting NotesA pale straw yellow with green tints. Complex aromas of fresh peaches, grapefruit rind and cinnamon combine with spicy vanillin oak. Stone fruit and citrus flavours develop on the palate and are enhanced by a creamy texture derived from 6 months of lees stirring. Subtle flint and savoury flavours extend the palate and provide a lingering, crisp finish. Cellaring potential is 5-8 years.
