The founders of Grayson believe that we can put to work our Napa Valley winemaking skills to create some of the highest quality wines at the by-the-glass price point. We believe that decades of Napa winemaking experience will allow us to create a better bottle of wine at a better price point than what’s generally in the market today. Our current releases include our California Chardonnay, California Pinot Noir, California Zinfandel, California Merlot and California Cabernet Sauvignon. You will find our wines to be fruit forward, well balanced and pleasant to drink. Our wines are carefully crafted by Larry Levin, who is among the most experienced winemakers in the Napa Valley. After completing his Enology degree at UC Davis, Larry spent seventeen years at Dry Creek Vineyard where over 18 vintages he produced more than 15 varietal wines. He has since covered the globe by making wine in New Zealand, Chile, and Australia across all price points and styles. For the previous nine years Larry was head of winemaking at Icon Estates where he oversaw the Franciscan, Mt. Veeder, Robert Mondavi, Estancia, Ravenswood, Quintessa and Ruffino brands. Larry also consults for wineries in the Stag’s Leap and Oakville districts in Napa and Sonoma. Grayson Winery produces its wines at a state-of-the-art Napa Valley production facility very near Highway 29. We insist our winemakers search throughout California’s finest growing regions to find the highest quality grapes for Grayson wines. The wines are then made by Larry Levin in Napa, California. This (Lot 11) is not your average California Chardonnay- no over-oaked, butterball here. This is a refreshing, almost desert wine. A light, fruity bouquet, a mouth full of vanilla, honey, and even a hint of orange marmalade, balanced with just the right acidity. Delightful, and priced right.

Pineapple, papaya and nectarine notes are ripe, bordering on candied, with a nice twist of acidity that keeps this from being cloying. Soft and tasty. Drink now.

The 9,000-case cuvee of 2007 Chardonnay exhibits elegant pear and lemon blossom characteristics, medium body, good acidity, a hint of wood, and an attractive finish. Drink it over the next several years.

Very bright and tangy in tangerine, lime and nectarine flavors, with bright acidity, this wine also boasts a firm, steely minerality.

Almost too good to be true, there are nearly 15,000 cases of the 2009 Chardonnay Lot 2, which is a naked Chardonnay offering lots of crisp, elegant, unbuttered popcorn, tropical fruit, pear and citrus blossom characteristics. This medium-bodied white possesses surprising fruit intensity and overall balance. Fresh and pure, it is ideal for drinking over the next year. This is a remarkable operation producing relatively large quantities of wines that offer sensational value.

The 2005 Chardonnay offers aromas of poached pears and apricot jam in a medium-bodied, fruit-driven, tasty style. It is best consumed over the next 1-2 years.

There are 15,000 cases of the 2008 Chardonnay, which is completely fermented and aged in stainless steel. Elegant honeysuckle, orange blossom, and tropical fruit aromas are followed by a nicely-textured, medium-bodied Chardonnay displaying outstanding purity, freshness, and overall equilibrium. Enjoy it over the next year.
