Pizza.Weingut: Grant BurgeLand: AustralienRegion: Barossa ValleyRebsorte: ShirazInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 14,5 Vol.%Restsüße: trockenLagerfähigkeit: 3 - 5 JahreFassreife: in Barriques gereiftEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16 bis 18°C Rotwein > Australien > Barossa Valley

Winemaker's Notes:

Grant Burge is a fifth-generation Barossa vigneron and winemaker. Throughout his career, Grant has been one of the most respected and innovative forces in the Australian wine industry. The history of the Burge family and their long association with winemaking in the region can be traced back to March 1855, when noted tailor John Burge immigrated to the Barossa from Hillcot, near Pewsey in Wiltshire, England with his wife Eliza and their two sons. Grant Burge Wines was formed in 1988 by Grant and his wife Helen, and is located in the heart of the Barossa Valley on the banks of Jacobs Creek and is still proudly family owned. Continuing the family tradition, Grant and Helen have now brought the sixth generation into the fold. The 2008 Grant Burge Benchmark Shiraz has benefitted from an excellent growing season which has allowed maximum development of varietal Shiraz characters and concentration of flavours. As a result this Shiraz is deep red with vibrant, youthful purple hues. It offers soft plum fruit aromas and a touch of sweet vanilla. The palate is bursting with powerful berry fruit flavours, raspberries, black currant and adding to the complexity subtle peppered spice. The Benchmark Shiraz has a generous palate with well balanced tannins and a long satisfying finish. This delicious Shiraz is ideal for every day drinking and is an excellent companion to roasted meats, lamb curry or hearty Italian dishes.
