Gramona Cava Brut Gran Cuvee 2008
90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): (one-third each of xarel-lo, macabeo and chardonnay): Light gold. Aromas of lemon, green apple, spices and honeysuckle. Firm, lively and intense, with racy citrus flavors and a subtle mineral component. This pure, precise Cava finishes with very good energy and length. (Nov 2011)
One of the best value sparkling wines around. Tastes way more expensive than it is. A little toasty from some Chardonnay in the blend, which gives it a Champagne-y feel, yet with the typical crispness of a cava. Great bottle to have around just in case.
Quite the refreshing change of pace from light, citrusy "easy drinking" sparkling wines, but still very accessible.
