Graffigna, with a winemaking tradition that spans 140 years, has the honor of being the oldest winery in the Argentine province of San Juan, the second oldest in the country and the first winery in Argentina to sell branded wines. Today, Graffigna is one of Pernod Ricard's four global wine brands and iconic of Argentina's progress as a quality wine producer. In recent years, as part of our philosophy of continuous improvement, Graffigna launched a viticulture study and development process in San Juan with the support of an international team of experts led by Victor Marcantoni and with the consultancy of renowned winemaker Phil Laffer. An ambitious investment plan was also deployed. In order to increase production and storage capacity, cutting-edge agricultural technology, equipment and production techniques were incorporated.   In 2009, Graffigna was named "Winery of the Year" in the USA by The Critics Challenge and Graffigna Centenario became the most awarded Malbec of 2007-2008. Moreover, in 2010, Graffigna's Malbecs (Grand Reserve and Centenario) were awarded with 90 points by acclaimed critic Robert Parker. Today, Graffigna continues to consistently embrace innovation without relinquishing its rich history and tradition. Read less

I would not drink this again. Tastes more like a Cahors Malbec than an Argentinian one. Very earthy and dirty. Not what I am looking for in my Argentinian Malbecs.

My Rating 83( 86) : Well two ratings! overall based on the funky smell I give it only an 83. Taken away the smell it might get a 86 rating. This smell is not a corked smell but a more barnyard like spunky smell. Taste is balanced and very dry. Price $ 8.99 at Costco / Orlando. Would not buy again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Rating 88; This wine has a dry body with very restrained berry aroma tart mouthfeel. The nose is long and also very compact with hints of Malbec aroma

A fairly typical Malbec with a wonderful deep color. Be warned that it has a tendency to quickly dry out the mouth and leave a strange aftertaste that's not displeasing, but certainly isn't wanted. Otherwise, the plum aromas on the nose are one of the best a Malbec can give while smokey and oak flavors at the start of tasting give it an elegant flavor overall.

Choose this at a dinner theater event after server mentioned special pricing. What a surprise! Great nose and taste. Will look for in local stores.

The 2008 Graffigna Grand Reserve Malbec is deep violet red with purple hues. It is very aromatic, with typical plum notes combined with chocolate and toasted notes from the oak aging. This is an ideal companion for lamb, grilled beef, ragouts, poultry or wild birds.

The winery was founded in 1879 by Santiago Graffigna. The Centenario is dark garnet with purple edges and flavors of dust, plum, blueberry, cranberry, cherry and a hint of milk chocolate. Zesty and juicy with bright acidity, good weight and depth, soft tannins, it has a smooth, creamy finish. Serve it with lamb chops, grilled bratwurst or Calabrese sausage and garbanzo soup.

Another winner from an award-winning producer! Perfect for Cab drinkers, this red is robust, with deep black currant and cassis flavors highlighted by rich, red raspberry notes. Smooth, dry finish.

This wine has a beautiful, deep violet color and coats the palate with chocolate-covered cherry and creamy vanilla nuances.
