User Reviews for Graffigna Malbec Grand Reserve
Add your reviewI would not drink this again. Tastes more like a Cahors Malbec than an Argentinian one. Very earthy and dirty. Not what I am looking for in my Argentinian Malbecs.
My Rating 83( 86) : Well two ratings! overall based on the funky smell I give it only an 83. Taken away the smell it might get a 86 rating. This smell is not a corked smell but a more barnyard like spunky smell. Taste is balanced and very dry. Price $ 8.99 at Costco / Orlando. Would not buy again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Rating 88; This wine has a dry body with very restrained berry aroma tart mouthfeel. The nose is long and also very compact with hints of Malbec aroma
A fairly typical Malbec with a wonderful deep color. Be warned that it has a tendency to quickly dry out the mouth and leave a strange aftertaste that's not displeasing, but certainly isn't wanted. Otherwise, the plum aromas on the nose are one of the best a Malbec can give while smokey and oak flavors at the start of tasting give it an elegant flavor overall.

This wine has a beautiful, deep violet color and coats the palate with chocolate-covered cherry and creamy vanilla nuances.
The winery was founded in 1879 by Santiago Graffigna. The Centenario is dark garnet with purple edges and flavors of dust, plum, blueberry, cranberry, cherry and a hint of milk chocolate. Zesty and juicy with bright acidity, good weight and depth, soft tannins, it has a smooth, creamy finish. Serve it with lamb chops, grilled bratwurst or Calabrese sausage and garbanzo soup.
Another winner from an award-winning producer! Perfect for Cab drinkers, this red is robust, with deep black currant and cassis flavors highlighted by rich, red raspberry notes. Smooth, dry finish.
Opaque purple; spice box, incense, lavender, and black fruit aromas; underlying structure.
Winemaker's Notes:
This line is produced with the best grapes from specially selected vineyards from the Pedernal Valley. It is well stuctured and perfectly balanced, with a sensuous and vivacious palate. It spends at least 12 months in oak casks and at least 6 months in bottle. It has an intense and deep color, and a great bouquet with the typical notes of every varietal that makes up this line.
Tasting Notes:
Color: deep violet red with purple hues. Aroma: very aromatic, the nose shows ripe plum combined with hints of chocolate and toasted notes from the oak ageing. Palate: sensual and lively with sweet ripe tannins, good structure, great balance and a long finish. Suggested food matching: lamb, grilled red meat, poultry, spicy dishes. Service temperature: 15-17°C (59/62°F)
