Graffigna Malbec 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Displays an intense and deep ruby red color, with traces of violet. A very aromatic nose presents the variety's typical plum aromas, combined with smoke and chocolate notes, a result of the oak and bottle ageing. On the palate, rich and sensual, well structured and perfectly balanced.

Graffigna, with a winemaking tradition that spans 140 years, has the honor of being the oldest winery in the Argentine province of San Juan, the second oldest in the country and the first winery in Argentina to sell branded wines. Today, Graffigna is one of Pernod Ricard's four global wine brands and iconic of Argentina's progress as a quality wine producer. In recent years, as part of our philosophy of continuous improvement, Graffigna launched a viticulture study and development process in San Juan with the support of an international team of experts led by Victor Marcantoni and with the consultancy of renowned winemaker Phil Laffer. An ambitious investment plan was also deployed. In order to increase production and storage capacity, cutting-edge agricultural technology, equipment and production techniques were incorporated.   In 2009, Graffigna was named "Winery of the Year" in the USA by The Critics Challenge and Graffigna Centenario became the most awarded Malbec of 2007-2008. Moreover, in 2010, Graffigna's Malbecs (Grand Reserve and Centenario) were awarded with 90 points by acclaimed critic Robert Parker. Today, Graffigna continues to consistently embrace innovation without relinquishing its rich history and tradition. Read less

This is a nice value. Takes like a more expensive Malbec. Medium body and spice. 12 months in oak and plenty of fruit.

Another winner from an award-winning producer! Perfect for Cab drinkers, this red is robust, with deep black currant and cassis flavors highlighted by rich, red raspberry notes. Smooth, dry finish.

This wine has a beautiful, deep violet color and coats the palate with chocolate-covered cherry and creamy vanilla nuances.

Very aromatic presenting the typical plum aromas combined with smoke with chocolate notes, as a result of the oak and bottle ageing.
