Graff Family Vineyards Mourvedre Chalone 2007
2007 Graff Family Chalone Mourvedre A rare find out of Monterey (or for that matter California); This absolutely wonderful Mourvedre has aromas of deep, dark fruit followed by a taste that includes Blackberries and Currants. To finish things off it has a smooth lingering finish that leaves hints of Mocha. The grapes for this wine come from a small vineyard on the Chalone Bench owned by David, John and Peter Graff, as well as from the vineyard owned by Dick Graff before his death in 1998. The profits from the sale of the wine benefit the Richard H. Graff Scholarship Fund for wine and food education through the Woodward/Graff Wine Foundation. This is a California Wine.
The grapes for these wines come from the small Graff and Antle vineyards on the Chalone Bench within the “Chalone” viticulture area in Monterey County, California. The wines are produced by winemaker Dan Karlsen and include Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Muscat, Mourvedre, and Consensus (a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Viognier).
