Goyette Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

For his Goyette label, Bob seeks out the premium grapes from the heart of California's wine country and does what he does best, working to achieve the ultimate balance between the elements, matching strengths and frailties, high notes with lows, in order to create a wine that evokes the purest beauty, as it is experienced both through the senses and the emotions. Only when he feels that the basal and auxiliary melodies of a given varietal are resonating perfectly does he feel comfortable calling the wine his own.

Exemplary Napa Valley Cabernet! Plum, blackberry and spice intermingling with cedar and mocha. Perfect purity of fruit and generous mouthfeel, with a silky smooth finish.

Brooding and structured, showing currant, kirsch, smoke and violet, with a wet-leaf type of underbrush adding complexity through the muscular finish. The tannins are polished and regal, making this an ideal steak wine.

A fruit-driven, new world style that's perfect for the novice and interesting enough for the more discriminating palate. Violets swirl around deep, velvety cassis that is impeccably balanced and satisfying in every way. I recommend it with your basic grilled aged ribeye steak, garlic mashed potatoes and favorite salad.

A bit sharp, but polished and supple, with good varietal flavors of blackberries, currants, tobacco and a hint of heady creme de cassis liqueur. Seems at its best now, so drink up.
