Gouguenheim Malbec Estaciones del Valle Red 2005
Extremely dark in the glass. Nearly black. Brown rim. Older nose of dried flower and leaves, old tobacco and stewed fruits. Loads of overripe plum. On the palate, it feels chalky and gritty. Bitter woody tones of cedar and cigar box. Dirty remnants of plum fruit. Unfortunately, all that's left in this wine is dirty, dried leaves and funk. Past its time, or perhaps it was stored improperly. 2/8/12
Dark red colors with violet hints; rich and strong aromas, including scents of ripe fruits, plums, black cherry, black currant, chocolates and violets; well-balanced acidity and a long finish; good structure with soft tannins. Alcohol: 13.60%. Residual sugar: 2.64 g/l. Total acidity: 5.10 g/l. www.lavieenvin.com/documents/Techsheet_Mbec2009.pdf www.bodegagouguenheim.com.ar/
Just got this wine, this past weekend from Cru in Rockford, IL. It's amazing especially for the price.
