Goldwater Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2009

External Review by Great Wines Direct:

Kim and Jeanette Goldwater established Goldwater Estate in 1978, then the first to plant vines on Waiheke Island. This wine has a riper style than many Marlborough wines and is consistently reviewed as one of the best Sauvignons from the region. Goldwater Estate is a small premium winegrower with an international reputation for producing outstanding wines. Kim and Jeanette Goldwater pioneered wine growing on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, with the planting of the island's first vinifera vineyards in 1978. This wine is pale straw gold in color and intenselyaromatic with aromas of stone fruit and passionfruit. Subtle citrus notes provide a further lift. The palate displays real fruit intensity accentuated by rich ripe flavors with tropical and citrus nuances. It has a crisp mouth feel and is well balanced with an elegant, long finish.
