Goldschmidt Vineyard Merlot Dry Creek Valley Chelsea Goldschmidt 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Rich and silky this delicious Merlot is beautiful and elegant. Made from their Trig Point Vineyard that sits around the banks of Dry Creek. Picked at optimum maturity with big powerful fruit and long supple tannins the wine just goes on and on in the mouth.

My first and only experience with this wine was one for the books. I was alone, in Dallas for a business meeting and made a special effort to go to a gem of a restaurant in Deep Ellum called Local. I'd found it on a previous trip to Dallas and had been dying to go back ever since. I decided to splurge and do the chef's tasting menu. The 4th course was a seared hudson valley foie gras + house_made texas toast (phenomenal) and it was magically paired with this lovely wine. The combination was out of this world with layers of flavors that still haunt me to this day. Can't wait to have it again!
