Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes: Chenin BLANC is the quintessential South African grape varietal, and this wooded, dry wine has a complex nose combined with ripe melon fruit, caramel and oaky vanilla aromas. It has a rich palate with a creamy butterscotch character and oak flavours that add a roasted aftertaste. A fresh and lingering wine experience! Enjoy with fish of any kind, as well as with grilled chicken, cheese soufflé, seafood pasta andl lightly spiced dishes. Percentage Grape: 100% Chenin Blanc Soil: Table Mountain Sandstone, Granite, Malmesbury shale. Growing Climate: Mediterranean climate with moderate summers and cold, wet winters. Rainfall of approx. 600 - 800 mm annually. Vinification Method: Grapes were selected from the Paarl & Malmesbury areas and harvested at 24 Celsius. 30% of the blend was fermented and aged in French oak for 3 months and 70% underwent normal tank fermentation. Alcohol Percentage: 14.2 % PH: 3,2 Sugar Rate: 0-5 g/l Total Acidity: 5,7 g/l

Golden Kaan:
Golden Kaan are wines produced in the Western Cape of South Africa. This fairly new winery, based in Paarl, uses select grapes from vineyards throughout the region. The wines are value-driven examples of local and indigenous varietals, such as Pinotage, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc available in red, white and rosé.

Not sure what the point was here. Oaked Chenin Blanc. Aromas of melon and oak. Flavors of melon, oak, and toast. Nicely balanced but the oak obscures all varietal characteristics of the CB.

Ein Chenin blanc der Premiumklasse, herrlich fruchtig und frisch mit einer schönen Eleganz. In der Nase mit Nuancen von reifer Melone, Karamell und Vanille; im Gaumen ein Schmeichler mit rundem, weichem Charakter und feinen Holznoten.
