I decided to try this wine after being pleasantly surprised by the Goats do Roam flagship wine. Deep red color in the glass. This wine showed dark fruit on the nose along with aromas of earth, cedar, and tobacco. Robust mouthfeel bursting with blackberry and black currant flavors. White pepper accompanies the fruit on the palate and has a nice warming sensation. Traces of oak as well. Great balance in this wine with nice acidity and firm tannins giving the wine a great feel. Very generous finish goes on for quite a while. Good value for the money, I would definitely recommend this wine for fans of spicy syrah.

I wanted to try this South African wine to get a feel for a Northern Rhone Côte Rôtie wine without breaking the bank. I was quite pleased with this one. I noted red and black berries on the nose. This wine had a rich mouth feel and is medium to heavy bodied. Hints of the berries on tasting were quickly replaced by strong additions of spice, chocolate, vanilla, and oak. Finish was strong with spice but dissipated a little to quickly. Very nice wine that one day I can hopefully compare to a real Côte Rôtie.
