What to Expect

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

Winemakers Notes

Sourced from four seperate blocks of vineyards which average 90 years of age, this Zinfandel delivers a great nose, wonderful mouth-feel, good legs and a silky-smooth finish. Just released, this wine has already received 90 points from the California State Fair Competition. It's easy to see why this varietal has become the Signature wine of Campus Oaks.

Excellent old vine zin. If you are lokking for a wine that goes with beef or pork and want somthing that is easy on the palette I would say give this a try. For the price it is a winner.

Campus Oaks Zinfandel is very hard to come by in Washington! We enjoy the rich fruity depth of the Zinfandel grape. It is great to savor as it has a variety of tastes with a long finish. It also goes great with BBQ ribs!

This is a nice sipping Zinfandel produced from very old, established vines in the Lodi Valley. It has great fruit characteristics mixed with vanilla and cinnamon. It finished with a classic combination of cinnamon and pepper delighting even the most critical Zin fan!
