My Rating 85: Bold Acid fruity flavors, strong fruity nose. This wine is not complex at all. A hint of Jug wine. For $ 8 overpriced

This was my first Old Vine, and Zinfandel!
A guy at Sunflower recommend this one. Mild-high acid. Alcohal in the wine gave me this warm feeling in my gut... almost like a shot of liquer (I'm not complaining but....) It wasn't what I ws expecting... I was hoping for something more like Apothic Red.... or Five Rivers. It's a typical Tuesday night wine... though... at price point Rex Golith will do this trick!

Our quest for outstanding Zinfandel led us down a country road into the heart of Lodi, California revealing a sea of gnarled, 35 – 80 year-old vines pruned in a special, mop-topped way called “head trained”. True gnarly heads, these old vines yield fewer grape clusters with smaller berries than trellised vines. These mighty little berries produce intense, bold wines that are deep in color with concentrated dark fruit flavors.
