Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards Va de VI NV
This wine was exquisitely crafted with hand-harvested grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from our favorite Sonoma Vineyards. This viticultural diversity allows us to consistently produce cuvées with complexity and pure fruit expression. Grapes are whole-cluster pressed to avoid bitter compounds. Using 20% to 25% of the first press (première taille) adds richness and structure to the blend. Proprietary yeast for the secondary bottle fermentation provides a delicate house signature. The cuvée ferments in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and spends a year and a half aging on the yeast (en tirage).
Editorial Reviews for Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards Va de VI
Sourdough, pollen, and ice cream grave the nose layered over a base of melonny fruit. Noticeably sweet on entry, then a little spicy in the mouth with hints of honeysuckle, peach, and creamy melon fruit that leads to a lightly sweet finish. The muscat shows up more obviously on the finish. Easy to understand, easy to like. 87pts

A good sparkling wine, a bit scoury around the edges, but nice and dry, with a fancy finish. Shows crisp flavors of yeasty lees, limes, lemons, vanilla and smoke.
Soft and creamy, with fresh, appealing kiwifruit, tropical fruit and yeasty spice flavors.
This is full, rich and round, with refreshing bubbles that counter the sweetness of the fruit. The flavors have a slightly green edge. Suited to a seafood terrine.
