A bit jammy on the nose, with deep notes of carob and dried citrus fruits, orange and grapefruit underpinning the apple and toast aromas. A touch coarse in the mouth and touch obviously sweet on entry, this is rich and meaty with apple flavors that show flashes of dried strawberry and pear fruit, extending over the moderately long finish. Certainly a popularly styled wine. 87pts

8% Chardonnay, seven to eight hours skin contact, Red berry, cherry character on the nose is also a bit earthy and spicy. Starting off with a little raspberry fruit, this has a lovely texture, nice midpalate depth with real red fruit character and hints of tangerine followed by a lemony edge of acidity on the backend which shows hints of of creaminess and sweetness. Very attractive with nice fruity complexity. 89pts

This sparkling wine is soft yet flavorful. Hints of grapefruit and citrus complement its slightly sweet character. Some acidity gives it a finish that is respectable in length.

This wine is a faint pink to yellow color in the glass. Delicate berry flavors on the palate. Decent level of dryness with well-defined acidity.

Color-Pale yellow; Nose-Cream, toasty almond; Mouth-apple & Pear; finish-medium buy it, drink it

Interesting ripe fruit (apple, hint of strawberry) on the palate. At 10-15gm of sugar, it is perhaps a bit too sweet. Perhaps in a non-tasting setting (such as a celebration), the sweetness might have not been as noticeable. Beautiful tiny, aggressive, and long-lasting bubbles.

Quite a reliable non-vintage. Pleasant bubbles and a light, consistent flavor throughout with hints of strawberry and blackberry.

Medium straw with subtle bronze highlights. Moderately full-bodied. Moderately extracted. Dough, citrus fruits, minerals. Rich bread aromas lead a focused bright citrus-flavored palate with a steely backbone that give this a solid structure. Quite assertive on the palate. Full fine-beaded carbonation.

Exhibiting pretty berry and wild cherry flavors with a dash of mango, this fruit-driven style has richness and depth. Drinks well now.

Medium straw hue. Generous aromas of peach and apple follow through well on a moderately full-bodied palate with broad, fruity flavors lingering in the finish. The upfront fruit of Pinot Noir comes through strongly on this Brut.

What a pretty color: off-gold with a trace of copper. Smells fresh and clean, with bread dough, vanilla, and a whiff of smoky raspberry full-bodied, with succulent raspberry and cherry flavors; dry and spicy. Finishes lively and a little rough. 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay.

Lively ginger and spice flavors pick up lean, firm pear and apple scents, with a touch of black cherry and Pinot Noir scents. Gains richness, turning creamy, with a whiff of vanilla. Drink now through 2007.

Medium-light yellow with a blush of salmon pink; persistent stream of small bubbles; forward, strawberry and green apple aroma; full body; toasty, creamy, cherry and ripe pear flavors with hints of cola; persistent mousse; crisp, clean finish; lingering aftertaste.

Winemaker's Notes:

Our Blanc de Noirs is predominantly made from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes, the hallmarks of which are a vibrant red fruit character. The creamy palate and rosy hue are a result of a small addition of Vin Gris, which was blended into the base cuvée. Over forty different clones and selections of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are planted on our 340-acre estate in the Sonoma Carneros district. This allows us to consistently produce cuvées with complexity and clear fruit expression. • Whole cluster pressed to avoid bitter compounds • Juice is naturally settled overnight (débourbage) to encourage a clean fermentation. • Proprietary yeast used for the secondary bottle fermentation provides a delicate house signature from year to year. • The cuvée is a blend of 18 different base wines fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. • Five to seven percent cold-soaked Pinot Noir juice (Vin Gris) is blended into the base wine for color and to establish the creamy notes in the finish. • The wine spent a year and a-half en tirage (on the yeast). • Small and numerous bubbles are encouraged by autolysis, the process by which yeast imparts complexity and a yeasty character to the wine. The autolysis particles provide sites for the formation of the mousse. • After disgorgement, the wine was balanced with a dosage of 1.3 g/100 mls.
