Glenora Winery Riesling 2017

External Review:

Blossom, honeydew and lychee notes waft sweetly from this lavishly aromatic Riesling. The palate is a bit demure by comparison, but it’s bright in tart lemon-lime flavor.

Has a slightly off-dry edge, with pear and green melon fruit gliding through a rounded, plantain-tinged finish. Drink now.

Full-bodied with a medium sweetness, counteracted by a strong acidity. Loads of citrus, with peach, apricot and hints of green apples that give way to a smooth finish with mineral undertones.

Delivers a juicy, ebullient core of green fig, green plum and kiwifruit flavors, with a slightly off-dry feel through the engaging finish, where an echo of fennel lingers. Drink now through 2014.

Fresh pear and lemon aromas are brightened with hints of white florals on this brisk, medium-bodied wine. Off dry in style, it’s juicy on the palate with concentrated white peach flavors accented with honey and tea notes. It’s an elegant yet easy quaffer at a very reasonable price.

Fragrant yellow and purple flowers on the nose and palate of this medium-sweet Riesling add a subtle perfume to all of the ripe, luscious white-peach and nectarine flavors. Hints of wet stone and lime-like acidity lend a crisp, tonic tone to the midpalate, extending onto the long, lingering finish.

A floral nose gives way to a superb wine. Sweet, but well balanced with a nice acidity, this Riesling is loaded with peach, nectarine and a little bit of apple. A nice minerality in the background makes this wine a bit more complex than a lot of others. Great with seafood, Mexican, or Asian; I like to pair it with tofu tacos and salsa verde on a hot summer’s day.
