Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch 18 Year NV
THE Glenlivet 18 Year Old, Mature, honey-rich, velvet. After more than 18 years in selected casks it becomes a malt whisky of unmistakable honey-rich maturity and depth. Small wonder then that THE Glenlivet 18 year old is the winner of 2 gold medals in the International Wine and Spirit Competition (I.W.S.C.) - the premier competition of its kind in the world. Comparing it to one of Scotland's greatest living actors The Malt Advocate calls THE Glenlivet 18 Year Old "mature, rich and sexy" Colour: Golden Amber Nose: Rich, with sweet and floral layers Taste: Honey-rich and toffeed on the palate with nutty, spicy overtones Finish: Exceptional length of flavour.
smooth with full flavor
Good, smooth but unexceptional for an 18
Somewhat enchanting to say the least. Different from the Carn Mor with advantages all its own. Never tiring, always bracing. A good cap to the night.

The cake batter, cinnamon-spice opening aroma is a joy; air contact helps define three distinct aroma levels: The foundation is mature, zesty malted barley, and the surface aroma is estery, kind of like dried rose petals. Palate entry offers succulent tastes of oloroso Sherry and vanilla; at midpalate, dried apricot and candied almonds abound. Finishes full, extended, nutty and toffee-like. Worth the price just for the rewarding aftertaste.(Wine Enthusiast)Rated 92Dark gold with copper highlights. Powerful aromas have a rich malt character with plenty of spice and light peaty notes. Follows through with a surprisingly silky palate where sweet caramel flavors emerge giving way to spicy oak and lingering peat on the finish.(tastings.com)
