Glen Ellen Proprietor's Reserve Chardonnay Premier 2010

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

A light, fruity wine, with gentle melon, peach and vanilla aromas and flavors and a touch of spice on the finish. Ultimately tastes simpler than it sounds, but appealing. Drinkable now.

With its cool climate flavors, seemingly lower alcohol and very good balance, this wine has more fine wine elements than any other chardonnay we tasted in this price category. Toasty aromas and baked apple flavors are very attractive; round in the mouth, the oak and fruit are well-integrated, and the finish is a little short. In all, an outstanding value.

Light and inoffensive, with pleasant pear and honey flavors.

A pleasant, monolithic, but authentic tasting Chardonnay, Glen Ellen's 1997 Proprietor's Reserve exhibits light to medium body, buttery tropical fruit, and an off-dry finish. Drink it over the next year.
