Food Pairings for Glen Carlou Red Bordeaux Blend Tortoise Hill
The Tortoise Hill range derives its name from one of Glen Carlou’s most distinctive landmarks: a rocky hill in the shape of a giant tortoise. Created to add quality and enjoyment to contemporary living, the two vibrantly fruity wines are backed by the Glen Carlou promise of consistent quality. This wine is bright purple-red with a translucent edge. It has a chocolate, cranberry and mulberry nose with cinnamon spice. There is good concentration of flavour: juicy red berries, currants, mulberry and oak spice. Ripe grapes, smooth mouthfeel without overt tannins. Juicy and sweet, finishing dry. To be enjoyed with beef, game and pasta dishes, or at a typical South African styled barbeque. This wine can be drunk now or laid down for further maturation.
