Glen Carlou Chardonnay Quartz Stone 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

A single vineyard wine, made in the classic Glen Carlou style, this wine will mature well and will show rich yeasty, full citrus and biscuity flavours as it ages. This wine has the potential to mature well up to 8-10 years in the bottle. It is subtle straw yellow, with green hues. There are aromas of green apples, gunsmoke and hints of sourdough, with layers of apricot and peach flavours, with some grapefruit and boiled sweets. A rich full mouthfeel with well balanced acidity that lingers on the palate for some time. Full bodied and rich, this wine will benefit greatly with aging. Drink chilled as an aperitif, or with roast chicken salad and pasta dishes, shellfish and dry cured pork.

A warm welcome to Glen Carlou, situated in the heart of South Africa’s scenic Paarl Valley. The warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters of this area combine with an exciting variety of slopes and the riches of our soils to create unique winegrowing conditions. Glen Carlou was established in 1985 and since 2003 has been successfully owned and run by Hess Family Estates. To harness our farm’s vast winegrowing potential, our vines are meticulously selected in terms of rootstock and clone, while every variety is carefully chosen for its compatibility to the terroir. Yields are kept rigorously low, ensuring that nature’s gifts are distilled in the flavourful grapes that we harvest. And in the cellar our winemaker Arco Laarman and his team join forces with nature to create three distinctive wine ranges. Read less

Klares Gelb. Im Aroma exotische Früchte, Vanille und Rösttöne. Kräftiger Körper, reich und komplex. Langer Nachhall.

Weingut: Glen CarlouLand: SüdafrikaRegion: PaarlRebsorte: 100% ChardonnayInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 13,5 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 6,5 g/lRestsüße: 3,4 g/lFassreife: in Barriques gereift (11 Monate)Lagerfähigkeit: 8-10 JahreEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 8-12 °CAuszeichnungen:4,5 Platter Stars Weißwein > Südafrika > Paarl - Franschhoek
