For the price point, this wine is a hidden gem. This wine is produced by the same vineyards that produce the infamous Amon-Ra. Expect a full bodied, lush shiraz that fills your mouth with crushed ripe cherries with a residual cedar note. The tannins are well developed and have strength but are well integrated into the palette. The finish is long and luxurious. Expect a good minute long finish. Really REALLY recommended..

2005 Glaetzer Wallace is a wine greater than the sum of its parts - a fusion of Shiraz and Grenache, which is a typical, traditional blend in the Barossa Valley. Parcels of premium fruit are picked at full ripeness for vibrant color, an abundance of juicy, berry flavors and spice. The wine also shows the elegance and finesse which underpins the Glaetzer style. Bright red purple in color. Grenache once again provides an intense strawberry lift with touches of cherry, minerals and spice. The Shiraz component provides structure to the wine and tightens the confectionary notes of the Grenache. Overall read more...

Intense on the nose and smooth on the attack. Then it releases all its pepper and fruit. Balanced, tannins domesticated. And how to forget that long, delightful finish. In BC (Liquor Stores) at CAD 29.99
