Editorial Reviews for Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate le Coste
Very brothy on the nose and showing significantly older than one would expect. The nose gives up old bones and faded middle eastern spice but the palate retains rich and smooth fruit that has a touch of oxidized sweetness to it. I enjoyed this but am concerned by it's evident evolution. Time to pull one from the cellar for another look see but based on this one bottle. 88pts.
User Reviews for Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate le Coste
Add your reviewThe nose was highly expressive with black cherry and raspberry fruits, followed by soil, slate dust and earthy minerals with a hint of V.A. On the palate, it was silky with a full body, showing rich red fruits, sweet spice and saline minerals. It’s structure seemed to creep in with the second sip as drying tannin coated the palate, yet still managed to close with flavors of cherry and wild herbs.

A beautiful perfume of flowers, mushroom and forest underbrush marks this maturing Barolo, which is tight and linear, with fine tension and mineral elements, followed by notes of chai spices and sandalwood on the long finish. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 1999 Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate le Coste 750ml
Winemaker's Notes:
93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): Medium red. As is usually the case, the Brunate/Le Coste takes things up a notch. It presents a deeply mentholated, balsamic nose along with layers of dark fruit, licorice and tar flavors that develop in the glass in a potent style that captures the essence of the vintage. The Brunate/Le Coste is the richer and bigger of the two Barolos here, yet it also shows more elegance in its finer tannins. Still reasonably priced, Rinaldi's Brunate/Le Coste remains the best traditional Barolo most people have never tasted. Drink after 2014, (Mar 2006)
